Two lessons sit in that table. First, weight is irrelevant to the schedule: from Newark, the 1 lb box and the 30 lb box got identical 3-4 day windows, and out west the 5 lb and 50 lb rows matched at 6-7. Second, geography is everything, with the continent's width worth about three extra days. The odd one out is the 7 oz mailer, which squeaked into a 2-3 day window on a lane where every heavier box saw 3-4.
Paying to beat the truck
On the coast-to-coast lane where Ground quoted 6-7 days, 3 Day Select and 2nd Day Air existed at higher prices for the impatient. From Newark to Atlanta, though, 3 Day Select quoted the same 3-4 window Ground already had, making the upgrade pointless there.

The window begins when UPS scans the parcel, not when you print. Hand it over early in the business day and a Tuesday label can mean a Friday doorstep on a 3-4 day lane; miss the daily cutoff and everything shifts by one.

Los Angeles to New York quoted 6-7 business days in our 2026-07-27 captures, at $19.30 for a 5 lb box and $76.04 for 50 lb. Distance sets the clock; adding weight only moved the price.
Is UPS Ground quicker than USPS Ground Advantage?
On our eastern captures, decisively: 3-4 business days against 6-7. Coast to coast the two tied at 6-7, and from Dallas to Los Angeles both quoted 3-4, so the answer genuinely depends on the lane.
